Writing.

The English Language tells a story. In fact, it has told almost every story. But, beyond its Words, there is their proximity, the Sound they make, the order in which they are Assembled, and the haphazard Punctuation, that holds them all together. Miles Calderon is keenly aware of all of that Nonsense.

My background in philosophy reers its head every once in a blue moon. Here is a paper I wrote on the ontology of jokes and here is a recent review on Letterboxd that was part essay on my conceptions of Craft and Art and part personal essay. I’ve also been told that the Mr. Cardboard newsletters aren’t too poorly written either, which is good because I try and make them a little fun. Speeches

Miles’s unique blend of talents coalesced in a beautiful and fulfilling way while working as a speech writing consultant for Amy Baxter’s TED Talk “How to hack your brain when you’re in pain.” Approached for his experience with performance and humor writing to help with jokes and delivery, Miles found joy in the holistic task of making the talk concise and clear. Miles’ degree in Philosophy never reveals itself more than when he is honing arguments and injecting them with levity.

Ah, there she is, my true love. Storytelling and laughter-giving through the modern medium of text! Here is the Rejected packet of sketches I submitted to UCB for their Maude Team, but from what I hear, competition was tough!
